About

Hi, thanks for visiting my website.

I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. My first camera was I think a Kodak 110 film in the mid eighties.

In the Nineties, I upgraded again to a new system, APS and bought this camera, the Kodak Advantix F600 which was a great camera at the time.

When digital became more affordable I bought a Samsung Digimax S-800 8MP point & shoot, which was another very good camera at the time.

Along with my other passion, following Mayo Gaa Football and photographing their match’s, I soon found that a compact point & shoot was not good enough for fast action shots. I took the in 2011 and upgraded to a Nikon DSLR. My kit includes a Nikon D3100, Nikon D7000, 18-55mm f/3.5 kit lens, Nikor 55-300mm f/4.5 vr afs, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 IS AFS, Sigma 10-20mm f/4 IS EX DC, and Nikon SB-400 & Nikon SB-700 speedlights. I also use a manfrotto  MKC-3 tripod.

I have a photo gallery of all the football match’s that I photographed at pix.ie. I am also a member of Swinford Tidy Towns Committee, (currently P.R.O.) and set up run their website swinfordtidytowns.com  where mostly all the photos are taken by me. I have also set up and admin a website for Swinford Handball Club. I am also P.R.O. of Swinford Camera Club and have also set up and admin their website (which is a work in progress). My most recent project is MayoClub51.com which I set up and Admin. With all the sites I’ve set up and admin, I decided that it was time to set up my own blog, and share my own photos with anyone that would like to view them. After all there’s no point in having good photos sitting on a hard drive where only I can view them! You can follow me on Twitter here, @mayo_mick You can view my YouTube channel here.
