One of the first shots from my newly purchased D7000 at the Mayo v Kerry hurling semi final last week.

I’m extreamley happy with the D7000, it has a burst rate of 6 frames a second, and was well tested by the hurling! There’s also a big improvement in ISO performance, 100-25600, although I still have to test that in low light conditions.  I usually start to panic using ISO over 1600! The sensor is also a lot larger, 4,928 x 3,264 @16.2M than my D3100.

On the match itself, kerry dominated Mayo in the first half, the scoreline at half time was Mayo 0.05 to Kerry 3.14. The Mayo hurlers though made a great comeback in the second half with some great scoring, the goal above was scored about 15 seconds after throw in! There was just too much of a gap from the first half and not enough time on the clock to overcome Kerry. The match finished up Mayo 1.18 to Kerry 3.20, Kerry only scoring 6 points to Mayos 1.13 in the second half!
