November Colour

Swinford Camera Club‘s monthly theme for November is Colour. However with the poor weather of late, as we do get at this time of year its hard to get out with the camera to get some November colour. I’m not too keen going out in the pouring rain with the camera, as weather proof as it is! Out on a daily walk I picked a couple of fallen leaves, some of the last remaining ones left on the trees.

I haven’t done much “studio photography” but it is a perfect chance to keep the photography going throughout the winter months. I played about with a few different set ups. Camera on the tripod with flashgun attached, and also with the flash off to one side at 45*.

With using the flash off camera, I need to use the in camera flash as a commander mode, to fire the off camera flash. This is not ideal as the commander flash introduces direct flash on the subject, which you sometimes may not want. I came across a set of Yongnou radio triggers with a master commander unit for a great price on the web. At a quarter of the price of a set of pocket wizards too! I cant wait for them to arrive so I can try them out.
