Some match photos from the Swinford v Northern Gaels JFC Prelim Q Final 13th September 2025 played in Ballina Stephenites. An exciting match played in front of a large crowd. Both teams were level at half time. Level again at full time which brought the game to extra time, under darkening skies and rain clouds rolling in. Swinford were also a man down from early in the second half.

It was looking like an uphill struggle for Swinford in extra time, more so when 1 of our players got black carded midway through the first 10 minutes.  We looked to have the winning line within sight however, even after missing a well saved penalty. We were a point up and the ref continued play. I thought he might have forgot to restart the stopwatch. Northern Gaels got possession in the dying seconds and with an outlandish kick from outside the 45, with help from the wind, scored a winning 2 pointer. Disappointing for our lads who threw everything at it.
