Swinford v Ballinrobe Minor C Final 22nd August 2024

Swinford scored a quick goal in the first quarter and I though we would be away with it from there on. The weather conditions worsened and it made it very difficult to play in. We lost a lot at midfield, even the breaking ball was spinning about the place in the wet driving conditions. We went in at the break 1-07 to 1-05 down.

Ballinrobe came out in the second half blazing, and fired over 4 points in as many minutes. We were 6 down five minutes into the second half, which proved just a little too much to claw back. We have quite a good young minor team there and I hope they can build on it. Its just unfortunate that the weather conditions for the match was so bad. Final score Swinford 1-09 to Ballinrobe 1-12.
