Dockers Monument Limerick – Project 52 #34
We were in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick last Saturday for the All Ireland semi final replay between Mayo and Kerry, which we lost, (photos of the match are in the Mayo Football Photos page). Walking back into Limerick city after the match with a heavy heart I came across this Sculpture of the Dockers Monument. It was just getting dark and the colours of the sky behind the sculpture really stood out.
The Sculpture itself is slightly underexposed as I was exposing for the colours in the sky.

The Dockers Monument is located on Bishops Quay (opposite Cloughessys pub) and was unveiled on the 18th June 2010. The Sculpture was commissioned by Limerick city council to celebrate the contribution of the dock labourers in Limerick.
