Kilronan Castle is situated about one mile north west of Keadew Co Roscommon.

My cousin Michelle was married to Mathew last year, and they held their wedding reception at Kilronan Castle.

It was my first time visiting Kilronan Castle. The Castle itself has been restored and upgraded over recent years, and they have spent a lot of money, which is very evident when you see the detail to which the interior is finished to. Below is the only view of the wine cellar I could get through the locked gate, which is not open to the public.

Also the grounds around the Castle look beautiful and I’m sure would look even more so in summertime, ( It was Christmas time when I visited )

I would recommend for anyone visiting the area to call into Kilronan Castle and view the grounds. Make sure to call into the Castle and have a look at all the photos hanging all along all the corridors. They are a photographic record of the restoration of the Castle and are well worth a look. It is a great credit to all the tradesmen that worked on the restoration to bring the Castle back to the condition that it’s in today!

Thanks to Michelle and Matthew for inviting us to celebrate with them on their wedding day.
