Yesterday saw the division 1 round 3 clash of Mayo and Kerry in Elvery’s Mc Hale Park in Castlebar. As usual I was there doing the match photos. Less than 30 seconds after throw-in, Alan “Freezer” Freeman scored this cracking goal. The Kerry goalkeeper hadn’t a chance of stopping the rocket of a shot, I nearly even missed it myself!

Although the morning started dull and wet, the weather picked up before throw-in, so much so that the sun was blinding at times! This also makes the job of taking photos all the more difficult, the background lighting and shadows cast was causing havoc with the metering!

Sunday was also the first home outing of Mayo Club 51‘s new banner. I knew it was big at 19ft x 7ft, but when you see it up close it really is huge!
